Basso & Brooke SS 2012
Since winning London's fashion fringe in 2004, Basso & Brooke have become known to us as the designers who pioneered that digital print. They are the kind of brand that, at the end of their show, leave you thinking ' how on earth will they top that next season' yet somehow, they manage it and this year proved to be no exception.
Theirs was a show of outfits that would make you look twice if you saw anyone of their pieces on someone in the streets - in a good way of course. The collection seemed to feature every colour imaginable and what a treat it was. They started off with purples, blacks and turquoises before moving onto the more powerful shades of orange, yellows a blues in their bright tropical prints, that are said to be inspired by Bruno Basso's (the Brazilian half of the labels) drive from London to Siberia, with the pair stating that the colours represented different times of day.
There were tunics worn over cropped trousers, blazers with oversized lapels, chunky accessorries and hair styles by GHD's, but the stand out garments had to be the maxi dresses, which were cut into various styles and would suit quite literally anyone.
