Derek Lam SS 2012

Derek Lam, recipient of this years Mercendes Benz Presents Designer, yesterday showed his collection of effortlessly chic, upbeat designs, kicking off his show with this white crocheted t-shirt and skirt covered with a mustard jacket.

His collection featured a number of see through shirts buttoned up to the colour that had us reminiscing of  Mila Kunis during her 'that 70's show' period.  The colour pallette was easy and feminine with mustards and beige which showed the Californian influence the designer was aiming for.

We were then taken down to the 60's with his bold architectual prints in navy, greens and that increasingly popular shade orange.

As his show progressed we saw more feminine, flirty designs with particular detail to the waist, which was drawn in with the help of belts, showing his focus on that simple silhouette.
