Peter Pilotto SS 2012
Today is without a doubt the day I have been most looking forward to out of the whole of fashion week (or is it a month when talking about all four?). Three of my favourite designers showing in the same day, kicking off with Peter Pilotto.
Whilst these are definitely not the sort of clothes I could wear personally, they are the sort of garments I would pay that huge price for just to hang them on a mannequin and stare at all day long.
The pieces in this collection wouldn't look out of place at a carnival in Rio. Whilst the print was undeniably an exotic one, it had a that futuristic feel as well. There was literally a dress for every occasion, tight ones with pencil skirts to the trademark of Peter Pilotto, the tight bodice that nips in at the waist before an expanding skirt (to echo the crashing of waves dontcha know!).
Quite obviously inspired by a recent trip to Indonesia, the colour palette was one of the best we have seen so far, with bright earthy colours mixed with those of a volcanic eruption. Whilst the dresses were no doubt super feminine, there was a slight sportswear feel by the way of racer back and industrial zips.
No detail was too fine for the designers, whilst accessories were limited, the shoes were the things that really set the outfits of, and are a big show stoppers in their own right.
