Mulberry's New Must-Have!

Meet Mulberry’s new must-have bag for Autumn Winter 2013

Despite both the recent decline in sales the brand have experienced as well as the loss of their latest Creative Director, Mulberry are still doing what they do best - introducing the seasons must have bags.  Whilst no bag before or since has been as successful as the Alexa and the timeless Bayswater, I have to say, this is possibly my favourite attempt by the brand to recreate that success (with the possible exception of the mint coloured 'Willow').  Named 'Primrose' - appropriately so seeing as it is the kind of bag I can see the likes of Kate Middleton and Clemence Posey wearing it - the bag was shown during the AW13 collection and was inspired by vintage bag styles, it's available in six different shades as of this week.

Payday Purchase: Cheeky Pants!!

I visited my sister today and was welcomed by a belated birthday card that felt a little thicker, and dare I say squidgier (is that even a word? who cares, it feels right!) than one would expect.  What do I find inside?  These beauties, a present from my gorgeous cousin in London.  The perfect gift, I loved them!!

After showing my sister, she pointed out that she had seen some similar knickers in Topshop but with a 'Toy Story' print on, something which obviously prompted me to have a little look online.  What a treat met my eyes then.

The so called 'Cheeky Pants' from Topshop will win you no awards in the romance department, that's a given.  But with this unbearable heat, coupled with the fact that I have a flatmate makes them an ideal replacement for pyjama pants!  They come in several different designs, from 'The Moomins' to 'Superman'.  Even better, they're currently on offer of 3 for £10! See below for a few of my favourite designs.

Look of the Week: Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton in a Jenny Packham dress outside St Mary's Hospital

Ok, so it isn't the most adventurous of outfits nor does it put to shame any of the outfits worn by various fashionistas across the globe, but props to Kate Middleton for choosing this bespoke Jenny Packham polka dot dress for her first appearance as a mother.  Treating us all to a glimpse of our future king for the first time, the Duchess of Cambridge teamed her dress with Pied a Terre wedges and her signature hair style.  Very mumsy indeed.

The new face of Louis Vuitton

Chosen for her 'Independent spirit, her passion for her craft and her choice of daring and challenging film roles' Michelle Williams has been announced as the latest Hollywood star to front a campaign for Louis Vuitton.  Joining the likes of Kate Moss, Giselle, Scarlet Johansson and Uma Thurman, the 'My Week With Marilyn' star is by no means the first celeb to front a campaign for the brand, but judging by these images she is definitely our fave.

In the ads Williams dons dresses and coats from the Marc Jacobs AW12 collection despite promoting Louis Vuitton's 'W' bag.  Unsurprisingly the campaign will launch and feature in the September Issue of a number of magazines.  Another set of ads, featuring the brands 'Capucine' bags will launch in October.

And the Prince is called....

'HRH the Duchess of Cambridge safely delivered a son at 4.24pm today.  Both HRH and her child are both doing well' read the announcement placed on an easel outside Buckingham Palace.  In the 24 hours since the Prince's birth there has been much speculation as to what he will be called.  We all know it will be something traditional and English, a friend of mine is predicting Arthur, I personally favour Edgar (come on, admit it King Edgar sounds cool!).  Whilst we await the announcement of our future monarchs name however, I thought it appropriate to look back over some of the, ahem, less traditional baby names of celebrities in recent history.

Suri Cruise - Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes meaning Princess in Hebrew.  Probably one of the most famous children in the world.  I don't love the name and I don't hate it, to be honest I think it's kind of a 'meh' name.

Ethel Mary - First daughter of Lily Allen and Sam Cooper.  Ok, so it isn't a name I would give my child but I think this one is quite cute.  They're two traditional English names and fit perfectly with Lily's more recent love of all things vintage.

Apple and Moses - 'You know, Apples are sweet and their wholesome and biblical'  Gwyneth Paltrow told Oprah. Was she drunk when she said this?

Morrocan and Monroe - Yes that's right, 'Roc and Roe' for short.  Children of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon.  She might have the voice of an angel but let's face it, she's not one to shy from a publicity stunt is she.

Seraphina Rose - Youngest daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.  I have to admit I love this name.  Big sis is called Violet Anne which is just as sweet.  With parents as cute as 'Bennifer', I's expect nothing less.

Hopper Jack - Son of Sean Penn and Robin Wright, named after Dad's two best friends, the late Dennis Hopper and the iconic Jack Nicholson.  Cute, but I can't help thinking Dennis Jack would have sufficed.  Then I suppose that's too normal for a celebrity isn't it.

Kal-El - Because naming his child 'Clark' didn't signify Nicholas Cage's love of Superman enough.

Honor and Haven - Whilst not the most usual of names in the UK, across the pond they're not that out of the ordinary.  Either way I think Jessica Alba's baby names are adorable.

Jermajesty - Jermaine Jacksons daughter.  Because, well let's face it he is a Jackson and they can't do anything normal.

Aurelius Cy- Elle MacPherson's son.  Another one that I quite like, a name that dates back to ancient Rome it's one with meaning, sounds good and is unique.

Pilot Inspektor - Jason Lee.  Apparently named after the baby's parents listened to the song 'He's simple, he's dumb, he's a pilot'.  I have no words.  I think even 'Hashtag' was a better name.

North West - Kim K and Kanye West Kim's Momager Kris told the press 'the way Kim explained it to me was that North is the highest power and she says that North is their highest point together.  Erm ok, if you say so.  Nothing to do with the vanity of North's father then.

Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper - No baby name list would be complete without a mention of the Beckhams.  Brooklyn on any normal child would, lets face it, be chavvy, considering the parentage of the mentioned it just works. Victoria has stated that Brooklyn was named both because she liked the name Brooke for a daughter and she was in New York when she discovered her pregnancy.  Harper Seven was after Beckham's football shirt number and Victoria's favourite author (Harper Lee), Cruz because they were living in Spain at the time, although Romeo supposedly has no significance..

Graduation Celebration!!

Michael Kors watches, anyone who is anyone has one. From A List royalty Jennifer Anniston and Victoria Beckham to reality TV starlets Kim K and Kristen Cavallari.  Since being introduced by DM London (who buy watches for both ASOS and Selfridges) introduced Michael Kors watches in 2008, they have quickly become the must have accessory for women everywhere.

Bringing together the trend of wearing boyfriend style pieces and offering a stylish watch for a reasonable price, it's no wonder that these watches have become the key piece for both celebrities and mere mortals alike.

Thanks to my lovely siblings, I now have my very own Michael Kors time piece, courtesy of my graduation present (what a perfect gift, right?) and couldn't resist sharing it with all of you!

Payday Purchase

Every girl needs a new dress for her birthday.  It's like part of the girl code, no?   Well, we all know that searching for the perfect dress can take time.  Looking for something that elegant, not too chavvy but that will let you stand out from the crowd, yes?

I decided that instead of going for the fail safe LBD, I wanted something with a pop of colour that would match my hair colour but not require me to make too much of an effort with my hair and make up.

Enter this rouge number from H&M.  I saw it appear online first and immediately pictured Georgia May Jagger's look from the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party.  Obviously, I'm not exactly a model born from Rock Royalty, but the overall look turned out to be great anyway.

Look of the Week: Rosie Huntington Whiteley

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Calvin Klein Collection at the ModelCo Black Tie Event

She's never far down in our style stakes, and this Calvin Klein Collection bandeau top and calf length skirt proves why.  Appearing at the ModelCo black tie event in Australia, the Victoria's Secret model teamed her ensemble with Giuseppe Zanotti heels and bright lips.

Darlings of the FROW

Everyone knows that those in the FROW of any fashion show are scrutinised just as much as the clothes on the catwalk.  Couture fashion week may not be as high profile as the RTW fashion weeks that we are all accustomed to seeing all over our twitter feed, but that doesn't make these frow guests any less fabulous and worthy of our attention.

Two of my favourite style icons at the moment have both appeared at the two most substantial fashion houses this week, Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart at Christian Dior and Chanel respectively, both rocking slightly daring looks compared to their usual red carpet numbers.

Jennifer Lawrence, the current face of Miss Dior, wowed in a full Dior ensemble and nailed two trends at once - baring the midriff and the ever questionable skirt/trouser garment.  Whilst the look might come across as slightly too try hard for many a star, Jennifer's slick hair and basic aviators dressed the ensemble down and made it look (almost) wearable.

Wearing head to toe Chanel, Kristen Stewart showed that you can have alabaster skin and still have perfect pins.  Whilst the leather gloved look isn't one that I will be trying anytime soon (Michael Jackson anyone?), it's something that K Stew, in all her grunge glory, actually manages to pull off whilst paying homage to Chanel's sometimes infamous Creative Director.

Despite the fact that Kristen originally was notoriously against the whole Hollywood/Fashionista stereotype, the star has certainly come into her own with the past years public appearances and her teams an oversized tweed blazer with barely visible leather shorts.

My favourite thing about this look?  Her hair.  I never fail to be jealous of the Twilight actresses hair, even when she has it scraped back and greasy it somehow looks better than mine after professional styling.

Wear the Trend: Block Heeled Sandals

As women, we all love to wear a heel to work.  For some of us, however, a heel just isn't viable due to the fact that we are running round on our feet all day.  Enter the block midi heel.  A perfect style for summer, the block heel makes for comfortable walking as opposed to the formerly favoured stiletto style heel and is also a great step away from that hideously offensive and unflattering kitten heel.

This tan option is from Zara and is currently in the sale (from £49.99 to £39.99) which in laymans terms means you might want to snap them up before they're gone.

The neutral colour means they'll go with pretty much anything, but I favour this pair with a pair of chiffon shorts and a white blazer for an easy office to bar look.

The white colour of these sandals are perfect if you've got a summer tan, if you are more on a pale side, like me then luckily these Kurt Geiger shoes also come in black.  At £85 they are slightly pricier than their high street counterparts, but as any fashionista knows, you get what you pay for.

This pair are from High Street fave Topshop. Priced at £48, they won't break the bank and with their simple style and plain black colour they work with pretty much any outfit and are guaranteed to last. A safe yet stylish option if you are still unsure of this style.

At £625 this Rupert Sanderson pair are way out of my price bracket, but when a pair of sandals look like this, it would be a crime not to include them in a post.  This bright colour and perspex heel of this shoe make them just about as on trend as you can get and would flatter any summer dress.
