Lanvin SS 2012

It all began with oh so heavy shoulders at Lanvin this weekend (by way of shoulder pads of course, not depression).  Models strutted out in high wasted pencil skirts and stunning long sleeved tops in this dark and Gothic collection.

Alber Elbaz had his models don crucifix' and heavily embellished snakes that curled around their necks and heels so strappy and simple that they were barely noticeable compared to the garments they were accessorizing.  Plenty of paneling was used on skirts and dresses like, in some cases to add more embellishment and other to introduce split seams.

Whilst the collection was stunningly dark, it seemed only right to end this Spring/Summer collection on a bright note, by way of gorgeous blue and green dresses made from fabrics such as silk and chiffon which were gathered at just the right places to show just that extra hint of flesh that makes the Lanvin woman so alluring.
