Viktor & Rolf SS 2012

If Paris is a more elegant and mature version of London, than the Viktor & Rolf show was the adults version of what we saw at Meadham Kirchhoff.  Whilst back in London the viewers at Medham saw the show begin with a flurry of dancers doing there make up, across the channel in Paris Viktor & Rolf's model came bounding out of the singers huge skirts at the top of the runway.

Everything about this show was fun, cheeky and as you can see for yourself, oversized.  The colour palette itself was a bubbly and fun one, with different shades of reds, blues and even bubblegum pink before the aforementioned colours were introduced in metallic shades,

There were plenty of full a line skirts that were layered over plenty of tulle and seemed to defy the very nature of gravity, plenty of stunning baroque materials and some amazingly big lapels on jackets.  These were clothes that would make Lewis Carols mind spin, and yet possibly the most fun so far.

There were ruffles a plenty and no detail was to small (no pun intended) with even the shoes having silk ruffles attached.  Whilst at first glance the models hair and make up appeared demure, on second glance it was all part of the theme, with large and bright eyelashes being used and even bold ribbons tied into a bow at the end of the models hair that matched the ribbon that was woven throughout the garments to represent yet more oversized stitching.
