Only two years after his first own named show at NYFW, Prabal Gurung showed exactly why he was the right choice to receive the CFDA Trova for womenswear earlier this year. His collection featured purple heavily, with shear fabrics, chiffon, and dresses that promote just how beautiful an hourglass figure is.
This collection is clearly for a women who is not afraid of what other think. Their were cutouts in literally every place imaginable and his models walked looking extremely tough.
Whilst his designs were cutting edge, they still somehow managed to look feminine and sexy. He introduced structured tailoring, in fabrics from lace to latex to feathering.
Unsurprisingly, the front row held rapping megastar Nikki Minaj, and I'm sure no one will be surprised to see her at an awards show soon in one of these fearless designs.
