Look of the Week: Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is one of those actresses you either love or hate. Myself, I totally love her, even more so after she opted to wear this deep blue Richard Nicoll gown to the LA Premiere of Interstellar last night. Satin is a brave choice for many of us, it works perfectly on the Oscar winning star who accessorised with a star embellished necklace, by James Banks Designs, which draped down her bias cut dress.

Look of the Week: Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway in Nina Ricci | Museum Of Moving Image Salutes Hugh Jackman

With the premieres of both Les Mis and On The Road this week, the red carpet outfits from the films leading ladies have had my fashion tongue wagging. Picking just one look to publish was hard but in the end Nina Ricci reigned supreme with this gorgeous gold embellished dress as worn by the gorgeous Anne Hathaway who was supporting co star Hugh Jackman at the Museum of Moving Image.

Teamed with simple Stella McCartney strappy sandals and soft makeup softened Anne's appearance in wake of her new haircut (in aid of her role) and was in stark contrast to her vampish look the night before.

Look of the Week: Naomie Harris

Whilst the 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' London was a bittersweet affair this week (it showed the same day the former South African president passed away). Despite this, Naomie Harris - who stars as Winnie Mandela in the biopic - still managed to wow crowds in this strapless black Alexander McQueen gown.

The simplistic nature of the dress was accented perfectly by the embellished peplum which negated the need for accessories and allowed the actress to keep her make up minimum without running the risk of looking too plain.

Look of the Week: Miranda Kerr

Miranda Kerr In Monochrome

She may have been visibly missing from this years Victoria's Secret show,  but former Angel Miranda Kerr seemed to not be too perturbed compared to the rest of us when she stepped out in Tokyo in a stunning monochrome Michael Kors gown and Bulgari diamonds.  Nor would you notice she'd recently announced a split with her husband of three years with a smile that would dazzle any.  If only the rest of us could handle our problems with our head held so high.

Look of the Week: Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman in Christian Dior

Natalie Portman is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful women on the planet.  Whilst she has remained relatively away from the spotlight of late, her promotional tour for the new Thor movie is proving that she will always remain on of our firm fashion favourites.  Sporting a shorter cut than normal, the mother of one took to the red carpet of the Paris premiere in this stunning Christian Dior number.  No surprise there considering the actress is currently the face of the Miss Dior fragrance.

Look of the Week: Rooney Mara

You've got to envy this girl.  She has gone from uber girly with gorgeous long brown hair to feminine goth and still managed to be better dressed than many of her a list counterparts.  This Proenza Schouler dress is one of the best wardrobe choices I have ever seen Rooney Mara wear, she hits a number of trends in one, the skirt length, a hint of midriff and an overall look that manages to be both gothic and romantic.  Finished perfectly with Brian Atwood peeptoes.

Look of the Week: Clemence Posey

There isn't much about Clemence Posey I don't adore, there isn't much about Erdem I don't adore.  Put the French actress in a design by the Canadian designer and you have a winning combination.  Clemence oozes feminine elegance and a dress by Erdem perfectly accentuates that, in a way, she is the exact kind of women who the brand aim to have wear the dresses.  Perfectly teamed with Louis Vuitton pumps, a Valentino clutch and a messy side braid.

Look of the Week: Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba in Ralph Lauren in New York

You can always rely on good old Jessica Alba to be the most stylish person of the week.  Stepping out in New York for Ralph Lauren's SS14 show, dressed head to toe in the label, the Mum of two looks better than ever,  Her pink ballerina skirt, which could look dangerously childish, is balanced out perfectly with a ribbed chunky knit jumper, chic up do and diamond earrings.  Could we covet her looks anymore?

Look of the Week: Jourdan Dunn

I'm not normally a fan of a plunging neckline, especially one as revealing as this Hugo Boss number, but considering it is model of the moment Jourdan Dunn wearing it, I'm making an exception.  Considering the mum of one was recently cut from Christian Dior's Haute Couture show for having a, shall we say, ample chest, this certainly appeared to be a statement making wardrobe choice.  Successfully mastering the plunging v and thigh high slit was never going to be an easy task, but the 23 year old model manages it, beautifully might we add.

Look of the Week: Nicki Minaj

I'm the first to admit that Nicki Minaj is one of my least favourite celebrities.  With the exception of Gaga (who can, at least, be called original) the whole crazy, over the top fashion statement that the likes of Minaj, Paloma Faith and even Katy Perry - to an extent - try to put across just doesn't wash with me.  Stop trying to be dramatic, you aren't making a statement, you just look ridiculous.

Anyway, rant aside, this latest look by Minaj literally floored me, I couldn't believe it was her.  Posting to her Instagram account, the 'starships' singer is wearing the stained glass print dress by British brand Alexander McQueen.

Teamed with a new blonde bob, this look is a definite winner!

Look of the Week: Rachel Mcadams

I watched Mean Girls this week and whilst we all know it is one of the best films ever, I couldn't help but compare the main cast then to how they are now - particularly Rachel Mcadams - looking back blonde was so not her colour. This started me on a little style search when u noticed this little number from last weeks 'About Time' premiere in Germany.

Whilst the sky high Mary-Jane shoes offered a hint of her usual girls glam, the peek a boo Saint Laurent dress and bouffant hair showed a vampyer side to Rachel that we haven't seen before, boy does it look good.

Look of the Week: Olivia Palermo

As you can tell by my lack of features on her, I'm not the biggest fan of Olivia Palermo, despite her status as darling of the fashion world. However even I can't deny the fabulousness of her latest outfit choice.

Attending an award ceremony in Madrid, Palermo opted for this simple yet stunning floor length Dior gown. Worn with a simple up do and smoky eyes, the look definitely gives meaning to the saying 'less is more'.

Look of the Week: Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton in a Jenny Packham dress outside St Mary's Hospital

Ok, so it isn't the most adventurous of outfits nor does it put to shame any of the outfits worn by various fashionistas across the globe, but props to Kate Middleton for choosing this bespoke Jenny Packham polka dot dress for her first appearance as a mother.  Treating us all to a glimpse of our future king for the first time, the Duchess of Cambridge teamed her dress with Pied a Terre wedges and her signature hair style.  Very mumsy indeed.

Look of the Week: Rosie Huntington Whiteley

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Calvin Klein Collection at the ModelCo Black Tie Event

She's never far down in our style stakes, and this Calvin Klein Collection bandeau top and calf length skirt proves why.  Appearing at the ModelCo black tie event in Australia, the Victoria's Secret model teamed her ensemble with Giuseppe Zanotti heels and bright lips.

Look of the Week: Georgia May Jagger

Red dress, red lip and blonde hair.  It's hard to go wrong with this combination as Georgia May Jagger showed at this weeks Serpentine Gallery Summer Party.

Even whilst rubbing shoulder with the original supers such as Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, Georgia May still managed to stand out from the crowd, but then, the girl is Rock Royalty.

Dressed in a shimmering red L'Wren Scott dress with a plunging neckline, the model and socialite proves that you can dress in red without looking like Jessica Rabbit (A look which I am NOT a fan of). Her wavy locks add a sense of ease to her otherwise uber glam look and shows that her absence from the red carpet was certainly worth the wait.

Look of the Week: Emma Watson

It's that time of the year again where Cannes is upon it. As with any event of it's kind, Cannes not only brings with it the premiere of some of the biggest movies of the coming year, but a wide variety of actress ensembles for us to pick and choose from.
It is from the film festival that I've chosen my look of the week, the stunning Emma Watson in Chanel. Opting to step out of her comfort zone that includes a wardrobe of various printed mini dresses, the Bling Ring star went to Chanel for this elegant and, in my opinion, simply perfect, floor length gown. With a sweetheart bodice that showed of her back (who would have thought a back could look so good!) and a floor length white silk skirt, the dress comes from the French houses Spring 13 couture show.

Look of the Week: Jennifer Anniston

So it's been a while since my last post, my apologies. As it turns out the final term of Uni is in fact a lot more time consuming than Facebook leads one to believe. Anyway, Uni is now over (forever, pass the champagne) and blogging can resume as normal. For my first post as an, erm non student? I've chosen my best look of the past week.

Jennifer Anniston is a champion for the girl next door and whilst she has always been one of my style icons, her demure and simple outfits can sometimes be forgotten about amidst the glamour that stars such as Jessica Alba and Natalie Portman. Opting for her failsafe LBD at a book launch for her yoga guru, the former friends star exudes confidence and understated elegance in the simple Stella McCartney number. Props to Ms Anniston for showing us just exactly why, less is more.

Look of the Week: Victoria Beckham

She's not well known for her dressed down style but that doesn't mean she can't still do it ten times better than the rest of us. Victoria Beckham stepped out earlier this week in head to toe black and still managed to be better dressed than me on my best day. The fashion designer was spotted in London in her signature shades, a plain black jumper, jeans and knee high boots (heeled of course!). Her oversized bag perfectly compliments her outfit and adds a pop of colour, even if it is only tan.

N.B, yes she does appear to be hugging her bag as opposed to be carrying it on her arm as the rest of us would. Is this a new trend in the making? If VB says so!

Look of the Week: Chloe Moretz

You may have noticed that I always seem to have the same faces appearing in my 'Look of the Week' feature but it's been a while since Chloe Grace Moretz has appeared on my list. I've recently renewed my love of Chloe's wardrobe by watching 2005's Amityville Horror followed by needlessly Googling images (seriously what is Google images atm?) of the young star to add to my look books when this image appeared from last weeks LA Premiere of Movie 43.

The 15 year old star normally opts for feminine elegance when appearing on the red carpet, however for the premiere she went for the androgynous look with a Dolce & Gabbana trouser suit, finished of with a ruffled white blouse and darker locks than usual.

Is it normal to be this jealous of a 15 year old?

Look of the Week: Chuck Bass

So we all know that a full grown male wearing a Onesie is completely unacceptable fashion decorum as Joey Essex has clearly demonstrated right?   Well apparently not as Ed Westwick showed in this weeks Gossip Girl after he donned this rather tight red Adidas number.

Whilst your average male wearing a Onesie as a general day to day clothing might me cause for public ridicule, Ed's alter ego Chuck Bass carried it off perfectly.  Although this is the character who has previously been seen in an orange mac and a purple cardigan/lemon trouser ensemble.

How does he pull it off? Because he's Chuck Bass of course...
