Look of the Week: Clemence Posey
There isn't much about Clemence Posey I don't adore, there isn't much about Erdem I don't adore. Put the French actress in a design by the Canadian designer and you have a winning combination. Clemence oozes feminine elegance and a dress by Erdem perfectly accentuates that, in a way, she is the exact kind of women who the brand aim to have wear the dresses. Perfectly teamed with Louis Vuitton pumps, a Valentino clutch and a messy side braid.

LFW: Erdem
The collection featured a range of sheath dresses with feather trims, sheer separates, constructed dresses and my personal favourite of a midlength shirt dress finished with a black vest, we were even treated to ladylike biker jackets - who knew there was such a thing!
See the collection on our Facebook page.

2013 Trends
Get Graphic
Last season
we had the digital print, this season we have everything from plaid to
chequered to simple and monochromatic.
For designers like Katrantzou through to Holly Fulton, graphic prints
rocked the SS13 catwalks. Go hard or go home with full prints and wear minimal
jewellery to avoid detracting any attention.
Metallic Marvels
If you’re
bored of neons and pastels, try something different this season and go for
metallic garments. As seen at Viktor and
Rolf, mix a metallic skirt with a neutral coloured top for a simple yet bang on
trend look.
Pencil Skirts
As on the
runway at Erdem, the pencil skirt is back with a bang this season. Whether it’s
leather, a blocked colour or one with appliqué detailing, the pencil skirt will
add sophistication to any outfit. Plus
the way it makes us wiggle will never be a bad thing.
Sexed up 60’s
The past few
seasons may have seen us all hiding our pasty legs under maxi’s, but girl’s,
it’s time to get them out again with a 60’s revival. With Moschino (above) and Louis Vuitton, to
name a few, showing their swinging hems, it’s time to take inspiration from
Twiggy in her heyday.
Stripes
Dispel all
those myths you’ve heard about stripes making you look fat. When worn right, they flatter everyone. Pictured here at De La Rentas show, black and
white always look best. Stripes are a
statement on their own so don’t try to be overconfident by throwing bright
colours in the mix. One of my favourites
for the upcoming season, why? Because it’s effortless regardless of your sense
of style.
Bored of Bikers?
Biker
jackets are another piece that has stayed the course of a few seasons, yet for
SS 13 it seems that designers have decided to opt for a new jacket cut – the
bomber. Known foe it’s sport styling,
the bomber isn’t something we’ve seen a lot of recently, but with the vast
majority of designers showing them on the runway, it’s time to get ordering.

Fashion Faux Pas: Kristen Stewart
Considering she once compared having her photograph taken to being raped, Twilight actress Kristen Stewart is showing an awful lot of skin on her current promotional tour for new movie On The Road.
Whilst anyone who reads this blog knows how I have a love/hate
obsession with KStew, this latest look makes me a little nauseous. As we've
seen since the beginning of the final Twilight's promo tour, Kristen has upped
her game lately when it comes to her sense of style but this number by Erdem
just seems to undo all the effort she has gone to!
Whilst the 22 year old actress has a body many would kill for,
the sheer dress and silk underwear combo just did not do her any favours. That
style underwear is more for the Dita Von Teese types and it just makes Kristen
looks flat. The real shame however, is that her outfit, minus the torso
section, is perfect. Her Louboutin courts accentuate her legs to perfection,
and her glossy pony and smoky eyes balance out the fluro shade of the shoes
perfectly.

Elle Style Awards 2012
We all know February is one of the biggest months for fashion, with New York Fashion Week still going strong, Sunday night seeing in the Grammy's and Bafta's whilst last night saw the fash pack head to the read carpet for Elle's Style Awards.
Rosie Huntington Whiteley was awarded 'Style Icon' award and looked as flawless as ever in a stunning Grecian goddess inspired Antonia Beradi gown which spoke for itself and was worn with her usually flowing locks pulled back with a slick middle parting.
Alexa Chung presented the awards and was back to her androgynous best in a tweed Stella McCartney suit whilst Florence Welsh, who scooped Best Music Act wowed in an Erdem Printed Shift. Both wore pointed courts, a sure sign that platforms most certainly are on their way out.
Best outfit of the night? Had to be model Poppy Delevigne who took to the red carpet in Mary Katrantzou's latest collection for Topshop and had our skeptical selves deciding that we most certainly WILL be purchasing from the latest Topshop collaboration as soon as it hits the stores.
David Gandy led the way for the males in his Grey Suit Jacket and brown pants whilst London Rapper Dizzee Rascal and DJ Nick Grimshaw opted to go for suits with electric blue hues.

Topshop's NewGen anniversary
Sponsoring raw British talent has always been a thing for high street leader Topshop and it seems like only yesterday they began sponsoring the British Fashion Council's New Gen, but it's been 10 years and the two have teamed up again for a collection of t-shirts from some of it's most noted alums including Mary Katrantzou, Erdem and of course, my favourite designer Christopher Kane.
The shirts are £30 each and will go on sale during London Fashion Week. There are 10 tees and all can be viewed on Vogue.com now.

Advent Calender Wishlist: Day Sixteen
There is something about Erdem that attracts every woman. I don't care whether they say they 'hate fashion' or 'don't follow trends' his designs ooze femininity and romance. From his floral designs to his natural palette. This Aileen Embroidered Dress is Erdem at his ethereal best.
With a cream base and a navy, lace embroidered top half, this is not a dress that could be worn anywhere, more importantly a dress that shouldn't be worn just anywhere - an occasion piece if you like, the type of dress I could imagine myself bringing out of the closet once a week just to admire it's beauty.
It's Erdem at his very best, what more is there to say?

Erdem SS 2012
Erdem showed his eponymous label yesterday in the ballroom of the Savoy Hotel and in contrast to the majority of those heavy, in your face collections we saw in New York last week, his was a stunning and ethereal collection that was the exact reason the Turkish - Candian designer is most fashionistas go to guy when they want something playful and romantic.
His models wore close fitting floral dresses with delicate touches such as lace insert sleeves, floral matching gloves and light pleats. There were a lot of blues with some yellow and red making it into the show, although the colours were not at all overpowering.
A special mention must go to that stunning, one of a kind trench and the hotpants. The hotpants were slightly more sexy look than the zealous Erdem usually goes for, but the shorts were still totally fabulous and i can see many a girl rocking them next season with platform boots and white shirts. Th trench coat was a gentle satin fabric and worked in the same floral prints as some of the dress. It is one of those pieces you know will be iconic and everyone will wish they had one.
