Look of the Week: Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway in Nina Ricci | Museum Of Moving Image Salutes Hugh Jackman

With the premieres of both Les Mis and On The Road this week, the red carpet outfits from the films leading ladies have had my fashion tongue wagging. Picking just one look to publish was hard but in the end Nina Ricci reigned supreme with this gorgeous gold embellished dress as worn by the gorgeous Anne Hathaway who was supporting co star Hugh Jackman at the Museum of Moving Image.

Teamed with simple Stella McCartney strappy sandals and soft makeup softened Anne's appearance in wake of her new haircut (in aid of her role) and was in stark contrast to her vampish look the night before.

BFA Awards: Stella McCartney Leads Fash Pack

It's one of the most prestigious nights in fashion, and it's been another great one for our fash pack yet again with Stella McCartney alone scooping awards for both best designer brand and designer of the year.

Alexa Chung came away for the third year running with the award for best British Style, the only award voted for by the public, beating the likes of VB and Kate Moss.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a major Chung fan, yet even I can appreciate the contribution she's made to our fashion, 5 years ago no one in the industry would be seen out without those killer heels, yet nowadays, even queen of heels Victoria Beckham has been seen out in 'monk shoes'.

The award for best model unsurprisingly went to 'her of amazing eyebrows' - Cara Delevingne (so amazing in fact that they now have their own Twitter page @caras_brows )whilst my personal favourite designer, Erdem won the New Establishment award.

Despite the flop that was his Topshop collaboration, JW Anderson still managed to scoop the RTW Emerging Talent award where as Sophie Hulme and Jonathan Saunders won the ET awards for Accessories and Menswear respectively.

Elle Style Awards 2012

We all know February is one of the biggest months for fashion, with New York Fashion Week still going strong, Sunday night seeing in the Grammy's and Bafta's whilst last night saw the fash pack head to the read carpet for Elle's Style Awards.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley was awarded 'Style Icon' award and looked as flawless as ever in a stunning Grecian goddess inspired Antonia Beradi gown which spoke for itself and was worn with her usually flowing locks pulled back with a slick middle parting.

Alexa Chung presented the awards and was back to her androgynous best in a tweed Stella McCartney suit whilst Florence Welsh, who scooped Best Music Act wowed in an Erdem Printed Shift.  Both wore pointed courts, a sure sign that platforms most certainly are on their way out.

Best outfit of the night?  Had to be model Poppy Delevigne who took to the red carpet in Mary Katrantzou's latest collection for Topshop and had our skeptical selves deciding that we most certainly WILL be purchasing from the latest Topshop collaboration as soon as it hits the stores.

David Gandy led the way for the males in his Grey Suit Jacket and brown pants whilst London Rapper Dizzee Rascal and DJ Nick Grimshaw opted to go for suits with electric blue hues.

Steal Her Style: Liv Tyler

Tess Daly was the latest celeb to don one of Stella McCartney's dotty designs on Sunday's Strictly come Dancing.  We've seen these daring black polka dot dresses with sheer paneling on a number of celebs this year, from Kate Winslet to Doutzen Kroes, but the one who wore it best is without a doubt Liv Tyler (above).

Whilst the dress has had more than it's fair share of the limelight, it's hardly suprising that it's appearing on our screens again, and with a price tag of around the £1500 mark it's not something us mere mortals could hope to snap up.

Well have no fear my fabulous fashionista's, I've found a high street alternative.  How i have only just noticed this is beyond me, but still, all's well that ends well, right?

Whilst I wont try and say its as perfect as the dress it is trying to imitate, it is pretty damn close.  You can get your hands on this structured piece from Warehouse and for only £60.  Well, what are you waiting for? Get clicking!

Isabel in England

This summer, fashion's Mr Perfectionist Tom Ford announced he was to open his first British store in Harrods, London.  This week Isabel Marant announced she is to do the same.

The French designer, who already has stores in France, NYC, Beijing and Beirut, is to open her first British store on Mayfair's Bruton Street, which is already graced by fashions finest - the likes of Diane Von Furstenburg and Stella McCartney.  The 3500 sq foot space has been taken over from the Haycon Gallery.
