The Mulberry Cara Delevingne Collection

It was announced earlier in the week that girl of the moment Cara Delevingne had teamed up with British brand Mulberry to launch an exciting new collection and today the results of said collection were unveiled during a photo all at Claridges hotel.

The collection offers us a versatile bag that comes in three sizes and three finishes as well as being one that can be worn as either a rucksack, on the shoulder or held by hand. Each bag includes the models own personal touch such as 'Made in England' printed at the bottom of every bag aswell as a small lion river and heart shaped patch inside the bag ( references to Delevingne's own tattoos).

Previously the face of the brands last two collections this marks Mulberrys first collaboration since that of Lana Del Ray in 2012 and comes at a time when the brand are aiming to change their aesthetic from 'affordable luxury' to more upmarket. Prices vary from £890 to £2500.

LFW: Mulberry

  4

Theme:  With a layout consisting of astro turf and columns lain with daisies, Madness' 'Our House' playing throughout the show and Winston Churchills voiceover at the start Mulberry are still proving they are key players in the British fashion industry.

Palette:  Beginning with grey and white, runway soon introduced some of SS14's much loves 70's prints in bright orange.

Accessories: Adding twists to their classic bags we saw the 'Willow' with flower detailing and 'Alexa' in bright orange.  70's style chunky heels were worn in multiple colours, most memorably the orange floral printed heels.

Key Look:  Look 4 was a personal favourite, not only for the cutest accessory known to man but the simplicity of the outfit.  Both the jacket and dress were stunning on their own but together a new dimension was created and a power outfit was worn.

Review:  A bittersweet show for the British brand today as it marks the last collection of creative director Emma Hill, who officially steps down from her role tomorrow, the women who made the brand the worldwide phenomena it has become the past 5 years.  The collection retained many of the brands famous signatures with the co ordination of pieces taking precedence.

Silk pyjama suits were shown in multiple forms, there were cullotes, jacquard jackets, house coats and even a leather boob tube.  Critiques have already dismissed the collection for lacking the usual Mulberry 'must have or die quality', something which I feel is no bad thing (with the exception of the garish orange 70's print which I would rather just ignore).  Whilst it girls may not be clamouring over themselves for this collection, a rest of us might actually get a look in to by a true piece of iconic British fashion.

Mulberry's New Must-Have!

Meet Mulberry’s new must-have bag for Autumn Winter 2013

Despite both the recent decline in sales the brand have experienced as well as the loss of their latest Creative Director, Mulberry are still doing what they do best - introducing the seasons must have bags.  Whilst no bag before or since has been as successful as the Alexa and the timeless Bayswater, I have to say, this is possibly my favourite attempt by the brand to recreate that success (with the possible exception of the mint coloured 'Willow').  Named 'Primrose' - appropriately so seeing as it is the kind of bag I can see the likes of Kate Middleton and Clemence Posey wearing it - the bag was shown during the AW13 collection and was inspired by vintage bag styles, it's available in six different shades as of this week.

Spring Clear Out

So it's that time of year where I'm making space in my wardrobe's for this season's latest pieces.  I'm in the process of moving house so I've decided it's finally time to get rid of those pieces that I'll never again wear but insist on keeping.

Whilst between my best friend and I, we have 6 big bin liners of clothes to take to Charity Stores or to sell at a car boot (it's all about being frugal right?), there are some pieces that are too damn nice to get rid of by one of these means.

To help with my problem, I've recently discovered eBay (I know, I'm like 10 years behind).  I've only been using it for two or three weeks but have already ensured that some of my favourite pieces have gone to good homes.

Whilst I've listed plenty of High Street pieces, I've also put up a number of designer labelled pieces, from these gorgeous Marc by Marc Jacobs pumps (which after 4 years I have finally admitted defeat and accepted that they do not fit, to D&G pumps, Ralph Lauren Sweaters, Mulberry Bags and even one gorgeous BCBG by Max Azria dress.

I know everyone is a bit skeptical when it comes to buying designer pieces on eBay but rest assured they are not fakes, just pieces that no longer fit or have never even be worn.  Take a look now : Charlotte's Ebay

Move Over Alexa

Everybody in the fashion industry knows that your not anybody unless you have a Mulberry.  The Alexa launched a fresh new craze of 'IT' bags last year.  Whilst the Bayswater before it was a massive hit, the Alexa catapulted the British leather goods company back into the spotlight as a top fashion brand, something it had been slipping away from over the past few years.

Mulberry have now released the Evelina - named after Ukrainian Supermodel Eveline Mambetova, who walked in the Mulberry A/W 2010 show (below) and whom creative director Emma Hill describes as 'Edgy and totally of the season'.
