Steal Her Style: Lydia Rose Bright

Just like many others in the UK, I have been gripped by the phenomenon that is Towie, despite my better judgement.  I mean lets face is, even Tom Ford referred to the show as culturally educating.  Yes I do love the gossip and the drama that goes on in their lives, but I also love the fashion - particularly the style of Lydia Rose Bright.

Having been quoted by various publications as the only one with true style on the show, she really outdid herself in last nights show, with this stunning red and black combo.  Whilst the rest of the girls adopt the 'less is more' approach when it comes to their personal style, Lydia is not afraid of high necklines and knee length dresses.

I've spent the day trawling with websites to find who she was wearing last night, all to no avail.  You can however get a similar look with these gorgeous pieces below.

  1. Red Valentino Bow Embellished Coat £545
  2. Carin Wester Pussy Bow Blouse was £130 now £65
  3. Vivienne Westwood Asymmetric Pussy Bow Blouse  £285
  4. Savillie Platform Shoe Boots £68
  5. Faux Leather Skinny Trousers £32

PPQ SS 2012

Party with PPQ seemed to be the theme at the show that closed the first day of London Fashion Week as models strutted out to a 90's playlist .  The collection was fun, feminine and seemed to wake the child like spirit in all of us.  With the likes of Lydia Rose Bright and Peaches Geldof in the frow, this certainly was one mixed bag.

The show began with the sugary light colours and flirty dresses, playsuits and bustiers.  There were purples, pinks and yellows, lots of razor straight hair (apart from the pink dip dyed style which I'm sure got us all wondering) and some of the most amazing platform shoes I have ever laid eyes one.  Garments had finishes such as gold chunky buttons and embroidery and plenty of the looks included bejeweled Bebaroque tights.

I read on one blog that the writer was reminded of those iconic prints that Italian label Versace are so famous for, which truth be told was exactly what I thought, but that made these pieces no less stunning than the rest of the labels pieces, which next moved onto a quirky 'western woman look' with models wearing cowboy (or is it cow girl?) hats and gun Zorro like masks, neck scarves and belts.

A final mention has to be made for the denim, which was included as part of the brand collaboration with Lee.  From double denim to being teamed with those stunning printed shirts, if I was wearing a hat I would take it off for the denim.  just stunning.

The Only Way Is Lydiaaa :)

So I have to admit, I’ve spent the last few months fiercely avoiding the phenomenon that is ‘TOWIE’ and berating my friends anytime they mentioned ‘Vajazzling’ being ‘Well Jel’ or singing ‘I’m in Essex Girl’...then my sister insists on watching it whilst I’m in the room by counteracting my protests by the fact that I was doing my coursework and therefore not even concentrating on the TV.  Lo and Behold the coursework went unfinished and I’m obsessed.
The Hills it isn’t, no one could replace the ‘will they won’t they of Lauren and Brody’ or the drama between Heidi and Lauren, but one thing is for sure, these ‘Essexlites’ are sure giving it a go.  We have the amazing bromance between Marc and Arg, the Love, um square? Between Mark, Lauren, Sam and Lucy and then there is Lydia and Arg, my favourites and probably the only two genuine people on the show.
What she lacks in media coverage compared to Amy Childs or Lauren Goodger, Lydia Rose Bright certainly makes up for in style.  I know I’m not the only one who was less than surprised by the fact that the majority of the girls showed up to Harry’s fancy dress party with more Jordan inspired flesh than was necessary but I was pleasantly surprised when Lydia showed up in her ‘Legally Blonde’ outfit, showing that her class and originality far outstrips that of any of the others on the show.
Whilst the other girls do know how to dress, they seem to prefer the ‘less is more approach’ where as Lydia always manages to get it just right, dressing for what suits her as opposed to squeezing herself into an outfit just to gain reaction from men.
Here’s a few of my favourite outfits....
