The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara stood out amongst the stars at this weeks Oscar's Luncheon. Whilst celebrities such as Michelle Williams wowed in designers like Victoria Beckham, the 26 years old actress opted to mix it up a bit with this black Asos jumpsuit and White Thierry Mugler Jacket.
The Best Actress Nominee stayed true to her character with the dark palette and had her hair styled with a full fringe which sharpened her usually soft feminine look.

BCBG Max Azria AW 12/13
Continuing on from the Spring Summer trends colour blocking proved to be going strong as BCBG presented their Autumn Winter 2012/13 collection at New York Fashion Week yesterday.
Shift dresses, tunic and wide legged pants dominated the runway as models donned block printed garments in shades of navy, cream black and mustard with accents of turquoise and orange.
Fur, which we saw on sleeves, scarves and gillets, was key in making a statement on the otherwise chiffon based collection, giving garments a more appropriate autumn/winter feel with the heavier fabric adding touches of warmth which we so desperately need as the weather grows colder.
We also saw sheer and leather paneling as well as pleated dresses accessorized leather and suede clutches which made room for a more sophisticated look among the models

Payday Purchase
Although I'm on a gap year, I've just been invited to my University's Graduates Ball with my best friend. I thought seeing as we wont be graduating (Lauren opted not to take a year out), it will be the perfect opportunity for our last student shin dig together.
I've been looking over Girl Meet's Dress with the thought of hiring a full length gown but nothing seemed to catch my eye, luckily Mywardrobe.com came through again with this new Milly Dress which is perfect for the occasion and unlike a hired dress, can be worn again.
It's full, printed skirt is the perfect contrast with the black satin top half of the dress and it's 50's shape brings an instant style update to any wardrobe.
I can't wait to wear it!

Fashion Week Kicks Off
Many off us have not even had the chance to try out SS 2012's new trends thanks to the blistering colds but thankfully today is the day that Autumn Winter 2012/13 kicks off, giving us plenty of time to adapt our current winter wardrobes, which given the next few weeks forecast of snow and minus degrees temperature can only be a good thing.
Mercedes Benz fashion week kicked off yesterday with shows such as DKNY Mens and Rachel Comey but today we start seeing the bigger names in fashion with shows such as BCBG Max Azria, Duckie Brown and Cynthia Rowley.
Following on Friday are fashion heavy weights Rag & Bone, Helmut Lang, Jason Wu and Nicole Miller with unmissable Prabal Gurung, Alexander Wang, Herve Leger by Max Azria and Monique Lhuillier.
Sunday's line up see's some of the newest yet biggest names with Victoria Beckham kicking off in the morning to be followed by Thakoon, Derek Lam, Diane Von Furstenburg and one of my favourites Zac Posen.
On Monday we have Jenny Packham, Preen, 3.1 Philip Lim, Reem Acra and Marc Jacobs with Tory Burch, Badgley Mischka, Rodarte and Oscar De La Renta following on Wednesday. The penultimate day of shows brings with it the now hotly anticipated Victoria by Victoria Beckham, Marchesa, Elie Thari and Proenza Schouler whilst the final day before we move to London is filled with American classics from Ralph Lauren, L'Wren Scott and Calvin Klein.
Fashion week is always a busy one, but with the weather getting colder and winter lasting longer and a whole list of fresh new talent let's hope there is plenty of fabric. Keep reading and we'll follow up today with reports on the best shows.

Fashion Faux Pas: Men in Uggs = Muggs
Obviously being a massive fan of Laguna, The Hills, The City and Keeping Up With The Kardashians, I was never going to be able to stop myself watching the UK versions, but believe me I tried. Despite living near Manchester, I am not a fan of the northern shows like Geordie Shore and Desperate Scouswives, but if you read my blog regularly you'll know that I do love Towie and MIC.
I think I am right in saying that Joey Essex is most people's favourite characters and whats not to love? He's thick, cute and funny and his fashion sense is, well let's just say out there. This is the guy that on last night's episode was seen out in public donning a personalized onesie. He went to a black tie even in a turtle neck, constantly wears man bags and let's not even go there with his desire to wear trainers two sizes to small. His biggest fashion faux pas? Those orange UGG's (see photo above).
Now whilst these bizarre fashion choices might be great for his TV personality (remember if they don't somehow get publicity they don't stay on the show) they aren't for your average male. When we see Joey in these boots and fire off tweets so much that it begins to trend, it isn't because we think they look good, it's because we are laughing at Joey and his stupid choices, which is all good and well because that's the reason he wears them.
After a friends recent decision to don his girlfriends pair (yes this is the same guy who still lives in 2008 with his plain cardigan and tee's) I decided it was time to speak up. We shouldn't be doing something just because it is deemed ok by mindless celebrities. I've searched various forums and other blogs for opinions on the subject. Men in Ugg boots are determined either gay, or uber chavs. Ugg's are a fashion statement for woman, because we're sick of wearing heels day in day out, guys you can wear trainers to a club for crying out loads so what is your excuse? You've stolen our make up, bags and hair products to often and it is time to man up.
If you insist on taking fashion advice from someone like Joey? Well then you are obviously as dumb as he looks.
